Women’s Volleyball Wraps Up West Coast Swing

CLAREMONT, Calif. (8/30/14) – The Kean University women's volleyball team had a tough draw on the second day of its West Coast excursion, matching up against No. 6 California Lutheran College (4-0) and No. 19 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (4-0) in a doubleheader matchup on Saturday. The Cougars (0-4) dropped both matches by 3-0 counts at the Pacific Coast Classic.

Aysia Peterson and Californian Kassie Hernandez led the Cougars with a dozen kills on the day each. Senior Meghan Williams had three kills on six attempts to pace Kean with a .333 hitting percentage. Alana Aranjo had 28 assists and Hernandez had 12 digs.

Kean will open up its home season at Harwood Arena on Friday when it hosts the two-day Cougar Classic. The first match will be against Hunter College at 4 p.m.
