Women's Volleyball Splits in Day Two at Worthington Classic

Washington, D.C. (9/30/17) – The Kean University women's volleyball team split in the final day of action at the Worthington Classic at Galludet University on Saturday afternoon.

Galludet 3, Kean 0 (22-25, 20-25, 11-25)

The Cougars were sluggish out of the gate and only hit .080 as a team falling in straight sets to the host, breaking their 11 game win streak. 

Sara Ridgway led the Cougars with eight kills and two blocks.

Kean 3, Rochester Institute of Technology 1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20)

The Cougars (15-5) turned things around in the nightcap and had positive attack numbers in each set of the win. 

Kean had four players with double-digit kills in Vikki Stec (11), Joelle Tondi (10), Jesse Larkin (12) and Ridgway (11).  Larkin also provided eight blocks while Tondi added eight digs.  In total Kean combined for 22 assisted blocks on the day.

For her efforts, Ridgway was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Cougars face a tough test on Tuesday when they travel to Ramapo College at 7 p.m.
