Women’s Volleyball Splits Matches on Final Day of Kean Invitational

UNION, N.J. (9/2/18)- Vikki Stec totaled 25 kills and 15 digs over two matches as the Kean University women's volleyball team split their matches with Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Vassar College on the final day of the Kean Invitational.

UW-Eau Claire 3, Kean 0 (15-25, 17-25, 23-25)

Stec finished with eight kills and a .364 hitting percentage as the Cougars dropped their first match of the season to the Blugolds. Eau Claire had two starters combine for 24 kills and 12 digs, including Arianna Barrett with 14 kills and 11 digs.

Kean 3, Vassar 1 (28-26, 25-21, 27-25, 25-18)

Kean bounced back in the second match of the day with a hard fought victory over Vassar. Stec totaled 17 kills and 12 digs, while both Brett Harper and Zoe Strozewski combined for 32 kills. Harper added 12 digs, while Jesse Larkin collected 10 kills. Brianna Calvano tallied a new career-high with 57 assists.

The Cougars combined for a .262 hitting percentage in the victory.

Head Coach Don Perkins and the Cougars will return to action in Hoboken, N.J. on Friday, Sept. 7th in the Ducks Classic hosted by Stevens Institute of Technology.
