Women’s Volleyball Remains Unbeaten in NJAC with Sweep of Rutgers-Newark

UNION, N.J. (9/25/18)- The Kean University women's volleyball team totaled 44 kills and a .418 hitting percentage to remain unbeaten in the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a straight sets sweep of Rutgers-Newark, 3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25-12) on Tuesday evening.

Vikki Stec totaled a match-high 11 kills for the Cougars who improve to 12-6 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC. Cassie Luken finished with eight kills for the Scarlet Raiders who fall to 10-4 and 2-1 in the NJAC.

Zoe Strozewski totaled eight kills and a .429 hitting percentage, while Jesse Larkin added seven kills and a .438 hitting percentage. Brett Harper totaled six kills and 11 digs, while Andrea Antal added six kills. Brianna Calvano tallied 29 assists, six aces, five digs and three kills, while Kortnee Nelson collected 15 digs.

Newark finished the match with just 15 kills and a -.023 hitting percentage.

Head Coach Don Perkins and the Cougars will return to action in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Friday, Sept. 28th, against the Brewers of Vassar College at 7:00 p.m.
