Women’s Volleyball Splits Tri-Match at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. (10/6/18)- Kortnee Nelson totaled 49 digs over two matches as the Kean University women's volleyball team split a tri-match at Haverford College on Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg 3, Kean 0 (24-26, 23-25, 17-25)

Brett Harper tallied a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs as the Cougars (13-9) were swept by the Bullets (15-3) in straight sets. Vikki Stec totaled 12 kills and six digs, while Brianna Calvano handed out 17 assists, while Nelson collected a season-high 25 digs in the loss.

Kean hit .115 with 19 errors for the match. Allie Stranick totaled a double-double for Gettysburg with 12 kills and 12 digs. The Bullets faired slightly better with a .167 hitting percentage and 17 errors.

Kean 3, Haverford 0 (25-21, 25-19, 27-25)

Jesse Larkin totaled 14 kills and a .609 hitting percentage as the Cougars (14-9) swept the Fords (6-13) in straight sets. Harper tallied 12 kills, while Cailyn Ross finished with eight kills. Calvano handed out 34 assists and totaled 11 digs, while Nelson collected 24 digs in the sweep.

Kean hit .225 for the match with a .371 hitting percentage in the second set. Haverford hit .122 with 18 errors. Dina Kosyagin totaled 12 kills.

Head Coach Don Perkins and the Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 9th, hosting the RoadRunners of Ramapo College at 7:00 p.m.
