Women’s Volleyball Drops Two at Stevenson Tri-Match

OWINGS, MILLS, Md. (10/13/18)- The Kean University women's volleyball team dropped both matches on Saturday afternoon at a tri-match hosted by Stevenson University.

Cabrini 3, Kean 1 (16-25, 25-19, 19-25,16-25)

Cailyn Ross, Vikki Stec and Zoe Strozewski all tallied 10 kills as the Cougars (15-10) dropped the opener to Cabrini University. After the Cavaliers (17-8) captured the first set, Kean responded by hitting .294 with Ross, Stec, and Strozewski combining for 10 kills in the second set victory. The Cougars held the Cavs to a .057 hitting percentage in the victory. Cabrini answered by taking the final two sets.

Brianna Calvano finished with 22 assists, while Michelle Froehlich totaled a double-double with 13 assists and 10 digs. Jesse Larkin tallied eight kills, while Brett Harper finished with seven kills and 14 digs. Kortnee Nelson collected 13 digs, while Julia Fiore totaled 10.

 Steph Judkins totaled 19 kills and 13 digs for Cabrini.

Stevenson 3, Kean 0 (19-25, 18-25, 22-25)

Ross, Harper, and Strozewski all tallied seven kills as the Cougars (15-11) fell to Stevenson University (15-11). Harper added 10 digs, while Froehlich finished with 14 assists and seven digs. Nelson collected 19 digs in the loss.

Katie Leftridge totaled nine kills and 12 digs for the Mustangs.

Head Coach Don Perkins and the Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 16th, hosting the Mules of Muhlenberg College at 7:00 p.m.
