UNION, N.J. (10/16/18)- Vikki Stec totaled 10 kills and recorded her 1000th career kill as the Kean University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Muhlenberg College, 3-1 (27-25, 20-25, 22-25, 19-25) on Tuesday evening.
Maggie Enestvedt totaled 18 kills for the Mules who improve to 16-6 overall. Zoe Strozewski finished with 14 kills and a .379 hitting percentage for the Cougars who fall to 15-12 overall.
Stec tallied five kills in the 27-25 opening set victory as Kean hit .259 and scored the final two points. The Mules answered by sweeping the final three set in very close margin. The senior didn't record her 1000th career kill until the third set with the Cougars trailing, 9-8.
Brett Harper finished with 10 kills, nine digs and three blocks assists, while Brianna Calvano totaled 42 assists, eight digs and three kills. Kortnee Nelson collected 23 digs, while Sarah Sample tallied 11.
Stec becomes the seventh Cougar in program history to reach the 1,000 kill plateau
Head Coach Don Perkins and the Cougars will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 18th, hosting the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden for Senior Night at 7:00 p.m. Coach Perkins and his staff will honor Andrea Antal, Stec, Harper and Julia Fiore before Thursday's match.
