PITMAN, N.J. (11/2/18)- The Kean University women's volleyball team had five Cougars named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Conference teams as announced by the conference office today. Senior Vikki Stec and junior Jesse Larkin were both named first-team selections, while junior Brianna Calvano, senior Brett Harper, and sophomore Zoe Strozewski were all named to the honorable mention.
Stec makes her third straight appearance on the first team after totaling 279 kills, 188 digs, 33 blocks and 28 aces over 30 matches. The Elmwood Park, N.J. native averaged 2.74 kills per set, 1.84 digs per set and 0.32 blocks per set. During the season, she was named the NJAC Player of the Week and tallied her 1,000th career kill.
Larkin earns her third straight selection to the All-NJAC and her first appearance on the first team after totaling 224 kills, 91 digs, 74 blocks and 25 aces over 30 matches. The Redwood City, Calif. native averaged 2.15 kills per set, 0.88 digs per set, 0.71 blocks per set and a .329 hitting percentage. During the season, she was named the NJAC Player of the Week. Larkin's former accolades include being the 2016 NJAC Rookie of the Year.
Calvano makes her second straight appearance on the honorable mention squad after totaling 849 assists, 167 digs, 34 aces and 27 blocks over 28 matches. The Williamstown, N.J. native averaged 9.23 assists per set, 1.82 digs per set, 0.37 aces per set and 0.29 blocks per set. During the season, she was named the NJAC Player of the Week.
Harper makes her first appearance on the honorable mention team after totaling 280 kills, 256 digs, 37 aces, and 30 blocks over 30 matches. The Vero Beach, Fla. native averaged 2.72 kills per set, 2.49 digs per set, 0.36 aces per set and 0.29 blocks per set. During the season she tallied her 1,000 career kill. Harper was the 2015 NJAC Rookie of the Year.
Strozewski makes her first appearance on the honorable mention squad after totaling 215 kills and 67 blocks over 27 matches. The Mount Prospect Ill. native averaged 2.26 kills per set, 0.71 blocks per set and a .333 hitting percentage.
